Willa McCord Blake Eslick
Willa McCord Blake Eslick is best known as the first woman elected to serve in the U. S. Congress from the great State of Tennessee. That was in 1932. With the strong encouragement and backing of her family, friends, and a lifetime of civic and political associates, she chose to follow in the footsteps of her late husband, Edward Everett Eslick. She had the conviction to continue his unfinished work with the same shared passion, fighting for the rights and needs of our country’s farmers and veterans on the national level during what then was the very depths of the Great Depression. This book was written by her great-great nephew, John Eslick.
